Sidney Health Center is honored to be one of only twelve hospitals nationwide selected to receive a Bereavement Book Cart from the Gemma’s Hope Bereavement Book Cart Program. This special grant will support grieving families in the Labor and Delivery Department by providing access to carefully curated grief resources.
In confirming the grant, Gemma’s Hope expressed deep appreciation for Sidney Health Center’s dedication to compassionate care, stating, “With so many meaningful applications, the selection process was a challenge, so we are truly excited to be supporting your hospital!”
At Sidney Health Center, we are deeply committed to walking alongside families who are navigating the loss of an infant. We believe that meaningful bereavement support—including access to grief books, memory-making supplies, and other carefully selected materials—can have a lasting impact on the healing journey. This gift from Gemma’s Hope helps fill a critical gap in care for many families in our region.
The Bereavement Book Cart will include resources for families, such as age-appropriate books for siblings, as well as materials specifically for nursing staff related to perinatal loss. These tools will empower caregivers to foster moments of connection, understanding, and healing during some of life’s most difficult moments.
