Medical Oncology
Sidney Health Center’s outpatient oncology clinic, which was established in 1989, provides prescribed chemotherapy treatments, education and support for referred patients and/or their families. The oncology clinic began with one client and has grown to serve many local and regional clients. Originally staffed by one registered nurse, the service now has four registered nurses certified in chemotherapy administration.
Area chemotherapy and IV therapy patients started utilizing the new treatment bays in the Cancer Care suite in October 2012.
The new area features four chemotherapy and IV therapy infusion rooms with a centralized nursing station offering a private, relaxed setting for patients.
